Thank you. I think it's an under-explored and misunderstood headline. In fact, I think most of what OpenAI goes over the head of the media which seems fixated on a certain kind of corporate trickery, while OpenAI is doing a whole new type of corporate trickery.

Yeah, I have noticed they might be sneaky good at marketing and swaying public opinion. The way that they always seem to be coming out with A NEW CRAZY CHATGPT VERSION and staying in the news despite them oftentimes being half released versions or whatnot. Probably doesn't hurt that Bill Gates is helping them. He knows how to really spin a narrative.

Why should we assume they only have one thing in mind. Instead, given the changes they made in January to their terms of service, and given their apparent ambitions, why not:

-improve security

--of their products

--out of patriotism

-partner with the government

--to make themselves indispensable and limit effective regulation

--to get military, intelligence, & security contracts

-marketing

-other reasons

I know what this is. They are setting up a new money laundering system. By invoking the word or name AI they are weaving a sense of glamour and mystery about it,that isn't true in reality. So,to get ahead of our rivals we have to fund state paid research into AI.My eye and Betty Martin. Of course they will set up a twisty convoluted money trail to make it almost impossible to trace the passage of the money from the Treasury via " science funding" and into their back pockets.
